I'm pretty new to minecraft modding, but I have some experience with Java. I'm looking to make something that is basically a lootbag that drops an item when rightclicked. I not sure how to go about this. Any help will be appreciated!

create a block and use the method onBlockActivated to spawn an item when you right click the block

if you want to spawn a random item create a list with the items you want to spawn

I saw somewhere else that was saying the same thing, but I was having issues making it work. Instead I used Random() to generate a random number and a switch statement as a loot pool. But thank you for your help

Loot is done with loot tables now, which handles the "random selection" process for you.

The loot table is a .json file, isn't it? How you I make an item look at a loot table when it's right clicked?

I wonder how entities and blocks do it and maybe it is applicable.
