Question about the forge mod routing

I have a question. Does the feature of FML reading .minecraft/mods/{version} only work in the 1.6.x versions? Does it in 1.5.x?

Nope, 1.6 only.

It'd be cool if they implemented that and then released forge 1.5.x with only that change so it's easier for people to handle various mod versions and modders don't have to redo mods since that would be the only change. But I don't think they'll do that since they're working on current versions

We do not back port things. Modders and players should update to new systems when they come out and we should not support old systems.
