That sounds like an issue with your IDE not finding Forge, close your ide and delete all project files and reimport it

What are you talking about? Mods haven't been in the .zip format for years, and you're supposed to put mods into the mods folder, they don't magically appear there. -
Mods aren't compatible across Minecraft versions. You can use 1.12.2 if you want, but we won't be helping you if it breaks
