[1.19] How to spawn an entity when the initial entity dies (Slime reference)

Featured Replies

Posted

As the title mentioned, I tried checking in the Slime class but I couldn't seem to grasp, how can I make the functionality of the slime basically, but the difference is, when the initial mob dies, it spawns a different type of mob 🤔

Thanks in advance

Boilerplate:

If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one.

If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install

Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com  You should also read the support forum sticky post.

Yes already checked but I unfortunately couldn't really grasp

Basically you need to create there a new Entity via EntityType#create, then you can modify the Entity in the way you want, the slime is copying all data from the parent entity to the children (reduce the size, copy custom display name, etc.).
A thing you also want to do is the move the new Entity to the position of the old Entity. Last but not least you add the Entity to the world via Level#addFreshEntity

Note this is a server side operation
