Posted August 3, 20223 yr i looked in the vanilla code and couldn't find anything about enchantments for only a specific tool.
August 3, 20223 yr Author i also have a second question. how do i only make the enchantment work if the attack cooldown is fully charged? is there some sort of 'if' statement for it that i just couldn't find?
August 3, 20223 yr In general you should be able to get the Player attack cooldown via Player#getAttackStrengthScale with value 0.0F. If the returned value equals 1.0F is it fully charged.
August 4, 20223 yr Author still can't get getAttackStrengthScale to work code: @Override public void doPostAttack(LivingEntity pAttacker, Entity pTarget, int pLevel) { if(!pAttacker.level.isClientSide()) { ServerPlayer player = (ServerPlayer) pAttacker; if(pLevel == 1) { if (player.getAttackStrengthScale(0) >= 1.0F) { pTarget.setPos(pTarget.getX(), pTarget.getY() -0.8, pTarget.getZ());
August 4, 20223 yr It's never going to be fully charged *after* an attack. Look at Player.attack() in particular where resetAttackStrengthTicker() is used compared with EnchanmentHelper.doPostDamageEffects() Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one. If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com You should also read the support forum sticky post.
