junzuke
this is my Strong Stone block thought I had set the name package Mcmkingdoms.Mod; import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.Side; import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.SideOnly; import net.minecraft.block.Block; import net.minecraft.block.material.Material; import net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.IconRegister; import net.minecraft.creativetab.CreativeTabs; import net.minecraft.item.EnumToolMaterial; public class StrongStone extends Block { public StrongStone(int id, Material Material) { super(id, Material); } @Override public void registerIcons(IconRegister iconRegister) { this.blockIcon = iconRegister.registerIcon(McmkingdomsInfo.ID + ":StrongStone"); } }
TheGreyGhost
Hi What you've set is the name of the picture file used for rendering the block. You also need to set a unique name for the block, using setUnlocalizedName("myname") i.e. public StrongStone(int id, Material Material) { super(id, Material); setUnlocalizedName("StrongStone"); } You can tell this from the error message: 2013-11-06 13:23:00 [sEVERE] [Minecraft-Client] Using missing texture, unable to load: minecraft:textures/blocks/MISSING_ICON_TILE_500_StrongStone.png i.e. MISSING_ICON_TILE_500_ -TGG

robin4002
Use setTextureName, this function doesn't exist for nothing : public static Block strongStone; [...] strongStone = new StrongStone(id).setUnlocalizedName("strongstone").setTextureName("modid:texturename");
TheGreyGhost
Hi Robin4002 is right, you can also use setTextureName instead of registerIcons if it is more convenient. Both methods will work the same if you have the same texture for all faces. I'm guessing your error message "Using missing texture, unable to load:" should have changed now to 2013-11-06 13:23:00 [sEVERE] [Minecraft-Client] Using missing texture, unable to load: minecraft:textures/blocks/StrongStone.png If forge still can't find your textures, try this link: http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php?topic=11963.0 Also http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/topic,13355.msg69061.html#msg69061 (Apparently - when you're using Eclipse (which I'm not) you should put it into the SOURCE folder, wherever that is) -TGG

YSPilot
These guys are making it seem really complicated. When using the setTextureName() you also need to know the name of your mod. So me, I use wade.modname, so if would do setTextureName("modname:texture") Do not add the file extension and make sure it is a PNG. Also when you package your mod(not explaining All the steps) and you get to the part to zip it. you would zip the folder modname. When you put your item textures into the files you do BASEFOLDER/forge\mcp\src\minecraft\Mcmkingdoms\Mod\items When you put your item textures into the files you do BASEFOLDER/forge\mcp\src\minecraft\Mcmkingdoms\Mod\blocks biased on what you have said. you need to do setTextureName("Mod:texture.png")

TheGreyGhost
Hi This might help: Change the vanilla source code to add two println statements as below. Then start up minecraft and copy us your error log. -TGG FolderResourcePack protected boolean makeFullPath(String par1Str) { System.out.println("FolderResourcePack.makeFullPath:" + this.basePath + " , " + par1Str); // add this return (new File(this.basePath, par1Str)).isFile(); } FileResourcePack protected boolean makeFullPath(String par1Str) { System.out.println("FileResourcePack.makeFullPath:" + this.basePath + " , " + par1Str); // add this return (new File(this.basePath, par1Str)).isFile(); }

TheGreyGhost
Hi What I mean is - 1) Navigate through the vanilla code to the FolderResourcePack class. 2) Find the makeFullPath method 3) add this statement to the method: System.out.println("FolderResourcePack.makeFullPath:" + this.basePath + " , " + par1Str); // add this 4) Repeat for FileResoucePack.makeFullPath When you run minecraft, it should print a couple of helpful messages to the log. If your FolderResourcePack.makeFullPath doesn't look like this (it changed recently), paste the method in to show us which one you've got -TGG
