I was wondering if there was a way to somehow scan through either the

Block.blocksList[]

array or the

Item.itemsList[]

array for an empty entry.

 

In some cases, I believe that this would bring a much needed end to mod incompatibilities. However, it would also pose the problem of constantly changing Block and Item IDs, which the game constantly complains about.

 

Any Input on this idea is greatly appreciated.

1.7 will mean an end to Block and Item IDs. We won't have to deal with them anymore, they should be per-world.

This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project.

You know.. we've had that feature in the Configuration system for over a year...

Ya modders don't use it.

But yes, 1.7 should almost completely remove the ID issues.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
