Posted January 1, 201411 yr My ore is able to be mined with a wooden pickaxe, despite the setBlockHarvestLevel being set for a diamond pickaxe. My ore material is rock as well so that cant be the issue. I'm stumped on this, has anyone run into a similar problem with setBlockHarvestLevel just not working at all? Thanks -PleasantG
January 1, 201411 yr Probably during update that code changed or dissapeared. Or may be you did something wrong. You just better set a big hardness and resistance for that Block. Let me explain this a little. For resistance and hardness i use that in my mod_Name file; .setHardness(8.0F) .setResistance(4.0F) The whole code for your block or ore should be looking like this i think; nameofyourblock = new BlockName(2016, "nameofyourblock ") .setUnlocalizedName("nameofyourblock ") .setHardness(8.0F) .setResistance(4.0F) .setStepSound(Block.soundStoneFootstep); GameRegistry.registerBlock(nameofyourblock , "nameofyourblock "); LanguageRegistry.addName(nameofyourblock , "Name of Your Block"); } nameofyourblock - that thing you supposed to register in the beginning of mod; public static Block nameofyourblock; 2016 - block ID. You can use much smaller ammount than this. But i think not less than 300 cuz of other MC blocks. BlockName - the whole class of your block, or ore you suppose to use. You can also change .setHardness from 8.0 to like 3.0 or 5.4. However you'd like. Same with .setResistance. I hope i helped you.
January 1, 201411 yr Just FYI: setHardness doesn't actually effect which pickaxe you can mine a block with. You can set the hardness to 400 and leave it at canBeHarvested by wood and you will be able to harvest it with wood.....eventually. Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
January 1, 201411 yr Author Thanks for the attempt at help, but my code is all correct as far as i can tell. Changing the hardness is not the problem i have, the problem is setBlockHarvestLevel doesnt work.
January 1, 201411 yr Author Just solved this issue by rewriting my code on a different machine. Thanks for the help. -PleasantG
