[/s]Can someone explain the methods to install mods? Because I am now really confused with the CoreMods folder, on should I install base editing mods into the jar or the CoreMods Folder

CoreMods is designed for mods to take advantage of, dont put anything in there that doesnt explicitly tell you to.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Thx for clearing that up, really got me confused

So in the jar are mods that modify base classes, mods folder is for ones that don't, and coremods is for mods that need an API?

From my limited understanding, here is a breakdown:

Mods Folder => Mods that don't modify base classes.

minecraft.jar => Things that modify base classes.

Core Mods => Things that modify base classes, but are written in such a way, that they can be dropped into this folder and not require the user to mess with minecraft.jar
