Hi,

I'm trying to install forge onto my game but I keep encountering this problem. I've Googled furiously, but I can only come up with other people experiencing the issue, with no solutions in sight. So I need your help.

I have followed the installation instructions closely, have downloaded a fresh forge .zip and forced my Minecraft to update many times, and before you ask yes I'm deleting META-INF.

I'm running Mac OSx 10.5.8, my game is the current 1.3.2 version, I'm using Unarchiver to open my minecraft.jar, and I've downloaded and tried the latest 3 versions of forge, all have the same issue.

And I'm only trying to get Forge to run right now, I have absolutely nothing else besides Forge and Minecraft at the moment. What can I do to make this work?

I appreciate any help I can get.

Could be a CodecIBXM crash, it's the number 1 thing we troubleshoot here.

MERGE, not replace.

im having the same problem also.  im running on a Mac OSx 10.5.8, my game is the current 1.3.2 version and every time I try to install forge, my minecraft gets stuck at the done loading screen.  I've tried manually doing it, and I also tried using magic launcher

I'm not quite sure how to post my log, but i think this is it...

srgpepper42.  I don't see your error but, For mac; when you put forge in minecraft.jar, you shouldn't replace paulscode. You open it (paulscode in forge) , copy the files in there into the "paulscode in minecraf.jar" not directly to "minecraft.jar"

initial_ZEN.

-Force update (all mods in minecraft.jar will be deleted)

-Install latest forge. Do the mac things right. Delete meta-inf as always...

I have the latest version of java for  OS x 10.5.8.  Is there any other way i can fix this?

Update Mac OS.

Then try updating java.

Build 262 and above have the entire /paulscode included to prevent such situations.

Thanks for the responses.  I decided to download parallels and install windows xp and run minecraft off that.  It works on that with the updated java.. I just have to figure out how to get the sound to work on parallels
