Posted January 6, 201510 yr Hi there, Im trying to add aspects to a block From a different mod Via The thaumcraft API which needs THe block im trying to add aspects to. So is there a trick or am i just missing the completely obvious?
January 6, 201510 yr Idk if that's proper way, but you can simply add dependency (check if loaded) and do Block.getBlockFromName(String). Other way is obviously adding mod to your workspace libs. 1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.
January 6, 201510 yr Author Thanks for your help Block.getBLockFromName works perfectly. Do you know if there is a way to make dependencies dynamic like reading them from a file?
January 6, 201510 yr Loader.isModLoaded ("MOD_ID") Should be what you should do. If that's true, do stuff. Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
January 6, 201510 yr Author Ups i meant dependencies as in required-after But there wont be a way i guess Thanks for your help though
January 6, 201510 yr 1. You can use if (Loader.isModLoaded(modId)) {...} where modId is a string with the name of the mod. Inside of the if block you would have the code to add aspects to the block. 2. Inside of the if block you would have something like: Block modBlock = GameRegistry.findBlock(modId, blockName); Again where the modId is the id of the mod you want to load the block from, and blockName is the unlocalized name of the block you want to access. 3. To add the mod to your development environment just add it to eclipse/mods/ and FML will load it like normal (you may need to use a special dev/deobfuscated version of the mod). Don't make mods if you don't know Java. Check out my website: http://shadowfacts.net Developer of many mods
