1.7.10 Making it rain in all biomes

Recommended Posts

Uhm, im trying to get into reflection, can somebody tell me whats wrong with this code:

Field xy = BiomeGenBase.desert.getClass().getSuperclass().getDeclaredField("enableRain");
xy.set(true, null);

Cause the error looks somewhat weird in my eyes:

Can not set boolean field net.minecraft.world.biome.BiomeGenBase.enableRain to java.lang.Boolean

First of all, you can just use the class-literal

to get the BiomeGenBase class.

Then: set takes 2 arguments. The first one is the instance that you want to set the field on (the field itself only represents, well, the field. But the field has a value for every biome, or in java terms for every instance of BiomeGenBase).

The 2nd argument to set now is the actual value that you want to set. set also has specialized versions for primitives, if you use setBoolean (because it is a boolean field) this becomes more obvious.

You may have to jiggle with the BiomeGenBase#temperature and BiomeGenBase#rainfall values to get what you want.

I got it snowing in a desert last night, but only worked after I dropped the

down below 0.2 (otherwise I got rain).  Whiiiich is actually kind of a pain in the arse for me, as I'd like that value of change over time and I was hoping I didn't have to modify it (on account of then no longer having the original value).

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
