I am currently working on a pr for adding custom horse armor. Is there any other hooks i should add while i'm at it. Are custom saddles possible?

I'm having trouble with setting the texture for the horse armor overlay and armor value how would i go about doing this? As there both set in final arrays.

I'm not gonna bother as I like very many others are not gonna bother updating to 1.8 as the benefits are far our weighed by the fact it's so bad. Also how someone (mojang) can look at the horse armor code and be happy with it i dont know!

Ya I actually am not a fan of 1.8 either, too hard to update everything froom 1.7.10 to 1.8 as so much changed. Breaks a ton in my mod so I didnt bother might reconsider later but still,

I actually found using the horse code for custom vehicles fairly tough to get right (especially the jumping code) eventually I just wrote everything from scratch cause it was hard to use

If you are going to stick to 1.7 because 1.8 is "hard" to update to, then you will be stuck at 1.7 forever because it's not going to get any easier to update as time goes on.

Well, there is a difference between avoiding 1.8 for new mods versus updating old mods to 1.8. Depending on what your mod did, updating can be a LOT of work. I tend to mostly mod entities, so the update wasn't hard. But I could see how people with lots of blocks, particularly ones with custom models and such, might legitimately feel it is not worth the effort.

Definitely any new modding should be done in 1.8. And like diesieben07 says any PRs for non-critical changes will only be accepted into 1.8.

Well, diesieben07 hasn't said that, but shadowfacts did ;)

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.
