Forge 11.14.3.1503 not working in linux

I recently installed minecraft in linux because the os has a smaller memory footprint and i thought it might help a little with the lag in minecraft. When I run Minecraft with forge installed, using the forge profile, the splash screen is a static screen without the anvil or any loading bar and the title screen looks like this:

 

Here are the steps I took to get to this point:

[*]Downloaded Minecraft.jar from minecraft.net

[*]downloaded the latest version of forge jar installer

[*]installed Java 8

[*]ran Minecraft.jar

[*]logged in and ran version 1.8 until it got to title screen

[*]closed out of minecraft

[*]ran forge-1.8-11.14.3.1503-installer.jar

[*]chose client and installed.

[*]ran Minecraft.jar

[*]selected forge profile

[*]clicked play

[*]got to title screen and closed out of minecraft

[*]copied Schematica-1.8-1.7.7.136-universal.jar into ~/.minecraft/mods folder

[*]repeated steps 9 - 11

[*]got to title screen, still saw no sign of forge

[*]went to options and then controls

[*]saw no options for setting keys for schematica as i should

[*]closed out of minecraft

[*]searched Google for "Forge not working in Linux"

[*]installed java 7 as some posts mentioned 8 didn't work

[*]updated environment variables to point to 7 instead of 8

[*]repeated steps 9 - 12 and still got the same thing

[*]found the log file and read it

[*]searched for the error " FML appears to be missing any signature data. This is not a good thing"

[*]couldn't find anything that helped my situation. some mentioned not patching it with all files but that was for minecraft 1.5

[*]re-enabled java 8 as another post did say to use the most recent java

UPDATE: I just tried, on a whim, the recommended version (11.14.3.1450) and it works. so must be a problem with 11.14.3.1503

Ya, we just switched to a revamped version of our build system, it works locally but it seems to need more testing, Blame AbrarSyed, i'm working on it and should be fixed for new builds today.
