Posted September 3, 201510 yr so can anyone tell me how light is "created" in minecraft? how does world get illuminated, cause its not sun ofc ._. and is it possible to achieve complete darkness? September 3, 201510 yr Colored lights requires a huge amount of hacky shit, just because that's not how the engine was originally built. If you are really intent on doing colored lighting, there is a mod[/url[ which adds this and has an API that you can use. Don't make mods if you don't know Java. September 4, 201510 yr Author So why don't create a new lightmap instead of resizing it? idk spent all night searching for a better solution ._. what i'm trying to create is a prism, so when light beam of beacon (or something like that) passes through it refracts and shines with colors of spectre. September 4, 201510 yr Can't you just look into code? What you need is atomicstryker's DynamicLights mod which has configuration that allows you to make moving lights. DL is the ONLY (popular) properly written mod that does it. Pure ASM magic - still - very resource-eating. Note: It's client side only. 1.7.10 is no longer supported by forge, you are on your own.
