Does actually EVERY block that is generated in terrain has to be under block-ID 256? Thanks in advance!

No I don't think so because in the tuturals on the wiki they are using 501.

No.

We have a 4096 ids patch.

Read the EAQ before posting! OR ELSE!

This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project.

Don't PM me, I don't check this account unless I have to.

For TERRAIN gen, yes.

For ores and other things added after terrain, no.

There is a difference.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

You're asking if a BLOCK can be ID 5065 when minecraft only supports 4096... stop being stupid.

Thanks, this is exactly what I searched for! i just wondered coz I thought ores are a kind of terrain gen O.o:D

Isn't this changable? Would be awesome if support for IDs above 256 for gen-blocks would be a new feature of Forge :)

No, it would destroy all compatibility with any non-forge mod. This has been discussed many many times, this thread doesn't need to go on.
