Hello all,

I'm a coder who's been interested in finding an active community to begin developing for/with.

It appears to me that Forge does not have an official discord channel, which I find odd when many communities do now (it's free and amazing). Forums are great for big-writeups, but when it comes down to the day-to-day communication I find that chat offers way more flexibility and awareness.

Can one be made and represented by the Forge owners?

Essentially it would be a channel dedicated to purely developer discussion. Developers can sit in and ask questions, offer answers, bounce ideas, direct people to resources, etc.

Examples,

Do ask: "Whats the new way to do xyz"

Do not ask: "can someone update this 1.7.10 mod..."

IRC is the way to go, we're not hopping on the discord bandwagon as there is no need.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

IRC works, couldn't find anything so I just offered the mainstream. Thanks for the responses!

at the time, IRC was the mainstream, some would say it still is (there are a lot of MC community IRC channels, likely more than Discord)
