Hide vanilla item subtypes from creative tabs

Is there a way to hide some subtypes of vanilla items from creative tabs, but not others? For example, I'd like to hide polished granite, but leave regular granite there. setCreativeTab applies to all subtypes and I can't find any events that seem to be involved.

I could have sworn there used to be an event for it, but it certainly isn't there now.

For your own items yes, the getSubItems is called for all tabs and you can filter the ones you want.

For other's items no.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

game changed the way you create foods.
for example minecraft 1.21.8 code for the golden apple is
