I was wondering how can I can the breaking speed of blocks. I have my blocks registered in my init package and when I go in game and break them they instantly drop (I'm not in creative lol) so I need to know how to change this so it takes a longer time to break

Where do I put that at though? my init?

In your blocks class constructor, or when you create your block instance.

I still don't follow, I am new and still learning. I have this:   public static final Block BLOCK_OF_WITHER_ESSENCE = new BlockBase("block_of_wither_essence", Material.IRON); how would I insert it there?

Don't initialize your blocks in a static initializer.

.setHardness(Float)

If you still have problems I have recently been working on a mod and it has a titanium ore block and this is direct code from the constructor:

this.blockHardness = 3.0F;
this.blockResistance = 3.0F;

Resistance refers to explosion resistance and hardness refers to mining with a pickaxe.

I did this but am getting red lines underneath blockHardness and blockResistance. Is this correct?

Though, you should know what a constructor is and what classes are if you have some experience in C++. Also static initializer is when you initialize something when you declare it and it is static, or when you declare static {// Code}.
