Lexi_Noctura Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Hey! I was wondering if somebody could maybe help me: I'm pretty new in modding, in fact in programming at all, so a step-by-step or a foolproof explanation would be great! I'm writing a Mod right now on Eclipse for Minecraft 1.8.9, and I want to add subtitles to some of my items/blocks. So for example instead of just saying "Brisingr" (it's going to be a mod for Eragon) I want my sword to say "Brisingr" and then in the next line, maybe in a smaller size and/or different color "Eragon's Sword". Is that possible, and if so, could you explain to me how I could do that? Thanks!! Lexi_Noctura Posted July 25, 2018 Author Posted July 25, 2018 that still doesn't tell me in which class, where i have to put it Quote

In order to override a method, you have to do so in a subclass of the class that defines that method. I’m pretty good at programming in general and I think I’m doing pretty well modding minecraft, I’d love to help you make this mod. If you’d like my help, I’ll happily work with you on his mod, but you need to write it for the most recent version only Minecraft. I’ve already solved the issue of subtitles in 2 of my mods. I solved it by subscribing to the onItemStackTooltip event and checking if the item had an entry for a tooltip in my Lang file and if so localising that entry and displaying it right below the items name. I would use inheritance but in 19/20 cases my items are extending vanilla ones Quote About Me Spoiler My Discord - Cadiboo#8887 My Website - Cadiboo.github.io My Mods - Cadiboo.github.io/projects My Tutorials - Cadiboo.github.io/tutorials Versions below 1.14.4 are no longer supported on this forum.
