Hi,

I'm modding for a good while now and never had problems with MineCraftForge.

Now I have a new computer MineCraftForge doesn't work.

I use mcpatcher to install my mods and I do the same with MineCraftForge.

I use the same mods as before on my other computer and I install them the same to. So it can't be a problem with mods that aren't compatible with each other..

But the problem is that I always have a white screen when I start up MineCraft all the time when I have installed MineCraftForge..

So, can anyone help me? :\

I don't know if this error has anything to do with it but ok:

this is generally caused by you not installing FML properly, or installing some other mod that edits Minecraft.class on top of FML such as ModLoader, do not do this. Reinstall FML properly and try again.

re-install forge on a clean *.jar, DON'T install modloader.

then install the most recent version of forge, or a version you see fit.

How many god damn times do we have to state?

DO NOT INSTALL MODLOADER

IT IS NOT NEEDED!

FML DOES EVERYTHING MODLOADER DOES!

FML WORKS WITH ALL MODLOADER MODS

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Neither of those are ModLoader mods.

Both of those are BASECLASS JAR MODS

Forge does not work with mods that edit base classes.

Thats the problem with ModLoader, it doesn't do 1/2 the thing a average mod needs to do in order for them to be base clean. So modders have to edit base classes.

If the majority of your users have to edit base classes because your API doesn't do what is needed, then your API is not doing it's job correctly.

If a Mod is truly a ModLoader mod, it works with FML.

If however, a mod is a jar mod but ModLoader COMPATIBLE then it will not work with Forge/FML.

finite liquid in particular seems to be because the maker of finite liquid doesn't know how to update his mod properly and keeps multiple dead versions of notch code in there.

Hehe you guys think I don't know what i'm talking about, thats fucking cute ;)

So it's the publisher's fault that Finite Liquid doesn't work? If so then is there a similar mod that works with FML?

Wasn't there a Forge beta build in his forum thread?

This thread makes me sad because people just post copy-paste-ready code when it's obvious that the OP has little to no programming experience. This is not how learning works.
