Coliber Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Hey, I'm trying to install the Forge 1.13.2 through the jar installer, but even though i get the message "Successfully installed client profile (...)", the files are actually not extracted where it claims (AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\libraries\net) they are and the forge profile in the official mc launcher is not created. I turned off antivirus, I tried reinstalling entire .minecraft folder, but nothing helps. I used the 1.12.2 version before but did not have that problem, I'm not sure what changed since then. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to fix that? Thanks in advance Quote
Cadiboo Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Does the forge version appear in the available versions for a launcher profile? (You need to restart the launcher IIRC) Quote About Me Reveal hidden contents My Discord - Cadiboo#8887 My Website - Cadiboo.github.io My Mods - Cadiboo.github.io/projects My Tutorials - Cadiboo.github.io/tutorials Versions below 1.14.4 are no longer supported on this forum. Coliber Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 (edited) It does not, I tried restarting both client itself and entire PC just to be sure, but it didn't help. Like I mentioned I don't think the files are getting extracted at all, because nothing is changing in the paths the launchers is supposedly modifying. Edited April 17, 2019 by Coliber Quote

Coliber Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 Sorry for the noob question, but where exactly the installer store its logs? C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\ Quote
Cadiboo Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 The installer creates its log in the same folder as the installer Quote About Me Reveal hidden contents My Discord - Cadiboo#8887 My Website - Cadiboo.github.io My Mods - Cadiboo.github.io/projects My Tutorials - Cadiboo.github.io/tutorials Versions below 1.14.4 are no longer supported on this forum. Coliber Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 (edited) Solved it! For the future reference; since I couldn't find the log file in the same folder as jar file, I searched entire drive with the log name, and I found it in a directory called VTRoot which is a sandbox environment of Comodo Security. Turns out even when I closed the app, it still somehow managed to blacklist the Forge files. After unblocking the files manually in the antivirus itself, everything started to work correctly I knew it will be something incredibly stupid, thank you everyone for your help! As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk: The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge. If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan. When setting up a GitHub Repo it might seem easy to just upload everything, however this method has the potential for mistakes that could lead to trouble later on, it is recommended to use a Git client or to get comfortable with the Git command line. The following instructions will use the Git Command Line and as such they assume you already have it installed and that you have created a repository. Open a command prompt (CMD, Powershell, Terminal, etc). Navigate to the folder you extracted Forge’s MDK to (the one that had all the licenses in). Run the following commands: git init git remote add origin [Your Repository's URL] In the case of GitHub it should look like: https://GitHub.com/[Your Username]/[Repo Name].git git fetch git checkout --track origin/master git stage * git commit -m "[Your commit message]" git push Navigate to GitHub and you should now see most of the files. note that it is intentional that some are not synced with GitHub and this is done with the (hidden) .gitignore file that Forge’s MDK has provided (hence the strictness on which folder git init is run from) Now you can share your GitHub link with those who you are asking for help. DaemonUmbra Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 "I have the same issue" doesn't work around here, even if you do have the same issue more often than not it is a case of same symptoms different cause, so we ask that people not piggyback their issues as a general rule. 1 Quote This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.
