Hi,

I've made a Block with my own model, but you can only see the texture when there is an invisible texture around it. Otherwise you will see the texture.

When i place it whit a transparent Texture I can only see the Model when I place the Block and not in my inventory.

Here is my code:

Block Class:

package busti2000.technica.block;

import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.Side;
import cpw.mods.fml.relauncher.SideOnly;
import busti2000.technica.Technica;
import busti2000.technica.tileentity.TileEntitySoulMagnet;
import net.minecraft.block.BlockContainer;
import net.minecraft.block.material.Material;
import net.minecraft.client.renderer.texture.IconRegister;
import net.minecraft.entity.monster.EntitySilverfish;
import net.minecraft.entity.player.EntityPlayer;
import net.minecraft.tileentity.TileEntity;
import net.minecraft.world.World;

public class SoulMagnetBlock extends BlockContainer {

public SoulMagnetBlock(int par1, Material par2Material) {
	super(par1, par2Material);
	this.setCreativeTab(Technica.tabTechnica);
	this.setHardness(2F);
	this.setResistance(45F);
	this.setLightOpacity(3);
}

    public boolean isOpaqueCube()
    {
        return false;
    }

    public boolean renderAsNormalBlock()
    {
        return false;
    }

@Override
public TileEntity createNewTileEntity(World world) {
	return new TileEntitySoulMagnet();
}

    public void registerIcons(IconRegister par1IconRegister)
    {
        this.blockIcon = par1IconRegister.registerIcon("");
    }
}

Tileentity

package busti2000.technica.tileentity;

import net.minecraft.tileentity.TileEntity;
import net.minecraft.util.AxisAlignedBB;

import java.util.Iterator;
import java.util.List;

import net.minecraft.entity.item.EntityXPOrb;

public class TileEntitySoulMagnet extends TileEntity {

public boolean canUpdate() {
	return true;
}

public void onUpdate() {
	System.out.println("Updated");
}

}

TileentitySpecialRenderer:

package busti2000.technica.render;

import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL11;
import org.lwjgl.opengl.GL12;

import busti2000.technica.model.SoulMagnetModel;
import busti2000.technica.tileentity.TileEntitySoulMagnet;
import net.minecraft.client.renderer.tileentity.TileEntitySpecialRenderer;
import net.minecraft.tileentity.TileEntity;
import net.minecraft.tileentity.TileEntityChest;

public class SoulMagnetBlockRenderer extends TileEntitySpecialRenderer {

private SoulMagnetModel model = new SoulMagnetModel();

public SoulMagnetBlockRenderer() {

}

public void RenderSoulMagnetAT(TileEntitySoulMagnet par1TileEntitySoulMagnet, double par2, double par4, double par6, float par8) {

	int i = 0;

	if (par1TileEntitySoulMagnet.func_70309_m()) {
		i = par1TileEntitySoulMagnet.getBlockMetadata();
	}

	this.bindTextureByName("/mods/technica/textures/model/SoulMagnet.png");
	GL11.glPushMatrix();
	GL11.glEnable(GL12.GL_RESCALE_NORMAL);
        GL11.glColor4f(1.0F, 1.0F, 1.0F, 1.0F);
        GL11.glTranslatef((float)par2, (float)par4 + 2.0F, (float)par6 + 1.0F);
        GL11.glScalef(1.0F, -1.0F, -1.0F);
        GL11.glTranslatef(0.5F, 0.5F, 0.5F);
        this.model.renderModel(0.0625F);
        GL11.glDisable(GL12.GL_RESCALE_NORMAL);
        GL11.glPopMatrix();
        GL11.glColor4f(1.0F, 1.0F, 1.0F, 1.0F);

        }

public void renderTileEntityAt(TileEntity par1TileEntity, double par2, double par4, double par6, float par8) {
	this.RenderSoulMagnetAT((TileEntitySoulMagnet)par1TileEntity, par2, par4, par6, par8);
}

}

This is how it looks Ingame:

this.bindTextureByName("/mods/technica/textures/model/SoulMagnet.png");

I dont think you should have mods, more like:

this.bindTextureByName("/technica/textures/model/SoulMagnet.png");

This makes no sense.

Sorry,

I meant:

You can return 22 as the render type in getRenderType() inside your block. It's what the chest does. But please note, since the new texture system, you still need a "block texture" which is registered in the block class or you will get "Missing Texture" particles flying around when punching the block!

This thread makes me sad because people just post copy-paste-ready code when it's obvious that the OP has little to no programming experience. This is not how learning works.

When I do it its rendered like a chest (In my inventory)

You need an IItemRenderer to get it to work.
