Hello! I stopped modding at 1.12 and I have come back to it. In 1.12 I believe you were able to replace default textures by just putting a minecraft folder in the resources/assets folder. Now, I am still quite new to the 1.14 forge, but is there a way to do this in 1.14?

Solved the issue

    Textures basically work the same, but I believe the directory name changed from blocks to block.

    I tried replacing the stone texture to something else with the path: resources/assets/minecraft/textures/block/stone.png, but it didn't work.

    Make sure you got the path absolutely correct and that you have refreshed your IDE's packages.

    I refreshed and tried replacing item texture instead of blocks and it didn't work. Now, I have nothing in the mod except a single item, so do I need to do something else for it to work?

    My bad! Turns out assets in general weren't working and I some how messed up setting it up! Sorry for the inconvenience!
