If the entity flies against the block there should be snow on it and stumble if it flies again. Is that possible?

I do not understand what this means.

How can you make the snow layer higher?

By changing the block state of the snow layer block.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

and what method?

Do you mean:
"How do I get the current block state, alter it, and put the changes back?"

No, I mean

So, yes, that is what you meant.

Because the method in BlockState is called with(...)(or withProperty(...)) depending on exactly which MC version you're on), but that gives you literally zero useful information because it takes two generic parameters, and if you want what those parameters are then I'm answering the question I thought you were asking, not the question you actually clarified as to be asking.

Spoiler

If you really are sure that that's all you need, that's fine.

Spoiler

If you still need more information, then...

Spoiler

BlockState = world.getBlockState(pos);

int new_depth = Math.min(blockstate.get(BlockSnow.LAYERS) + 1, 8);

blockstate = blockstate.with(BlockSnow.LAYERS, new_depth);

world.setBlockState(pos, blockstate, 3);
