Posted July 18, 201213 yr Hello, I want to use the mod Minecraft: Battlegear, but, everytime I try to install forge, I get a black screen, and I don't seem to know how to install it properly, nor I find any tutorial, and the readme confuses me. I did delete Meta inf. I get a blackscreen and nothing else, so, I can't report much. I may get insulted because of this post, but, I need help.
July 18, 201213 yr Stacktrace or ban I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
July 18, 201213 yr how do you install it?? The exact same way you would install ModLoader, except you're installing Forge. (DO NOT install both) Check out my Texture Packs Thread here on the Forge Forum. Currently in the process of adding some mod support for JohnSmith Texture Pack. https://www.sugarsync.com/piv/D8135159_67366891_21351[/img] https://www.sugarsync.com/piv/D8135159_67366891_772852[/img]
July 18, 201213 yr Author I put the files that were inside Forge in .jar, but then it blackscreens. I don't see any tutorial, nor I can find one.
July 18, 201213 yr -sigh- Well, assuming you're not banned yet... What archiver are you using? (WinZip, 7-Zip, WinRAR?) What is your operating system? (Mac, Windows, Linux?) What steps are you taking to install it exactly? Are you installing it yourself? Are you being sure to NOT use MCPatcher? Because MCPatcher doesn't play nice with Forge. You provide us with so little that we need to end up asking you more questions than you're asking us. Whether you found a tutorial or not isn't information helpful to us. Because even if you did find a tutorial, you still ended up coming here. [*]Open client. [*]Force update. [*]Download Forge. [*]Open Forge.zip. [*]Open minecraft.jar using your favorite archiver (assuming you have one up for the task). [*]Drag and drop everything from the Forge.zip into the minecraft.jar, overwriting anything and everything that needs to be. [*]Make sure you're not dropping the files from the .zip into a folder within the .jar. [*]Delete the META-INF folder from within the minecraft.jar. [*]Close the .jar. [*]Run Minecraft and test it before you install any other mods. If it runs, and you see Forge version in bottom left corner near Minecraft version, you did it right. If it doesn't run, you either can't follow instructions, are using a crappy patcher, or your archiver doesn't merge/overwrite things correctly. There's your tutorial. And here's another. EDIT: Oh, and if you get it working, be sure to backup the .jar with Forge installed before installing other mods, that way you don't think its a problem with forge when it quite possibly isn't. July 19, 201213 yr Author WinRAR but the forge is WinZip. Windows 7. I used the same steps that you wrote. I'm installing it by myself. I don't have MCpatcher. Followed the steps but still blackscreens.
July 19, 201213 yr What version of Forge are you attempting to install? Perhaps you're trying to install a version of Forge below 3.3.7? My instructions are specifically for versions 3.3.7 or any later builds. Check out my Texture Packs Thread here on the Forge Forum. July 20, 201213 yr Stack trace. Look at the stickied post in this board that says "Read this or you may get banned", and read it.
July 21, 201213 yr Author I tried to get it using method 1 but nothing appears in the command window. Only the base things and the text I have to copy paste. C:\Users\OSCAR\AppData\Roaming>java -Xincgc -Xmx2048M -cp Minecraft.exe net.mine craft.LauncherFrame "java" no se reconoce como un comando interno o externo, programa o archivo por lotes ejecutable. C:\Users\OSCAR\AppData\Roaming> I get this when pressing enter.
July 21, 201213 yr Try following my listed steps from before, but using 7-Zip instead of WinRAR. Where as WinRAR has never failed me personally, it can't hurt to try a different archiver. I'd personally say that 7-Zip is on the same level as WinRAR and actually offers better compression in quite a few cases. (though, compression isn't the issue at hand here) Check out my Texture Packs Thread here on the Forge Forum.
