i think because of forge including the hd fix optifine doesn't like it because i get this error message when i try to click the texture pack button

the error report is n the attatched file

Let me guess using a 256x256 texture pack?

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

You're installing Optifine into the .jar and not the Mods directory, right? If not, that could be why. Optifine used to work in the mods folder, but now it needs to be in the .jar directly. At least, it does for me.
