hello
I am curently having some issues installing the latest 1.17.1 forge version: 1.17.1 - 37.0.27

This problem occure with this version but also with other versions such as 1.8.9
Basically when I try to download forge I go into the downloads file and open it, click on "install client" and then "OK" and after the download i meet this error message:
file:///Users/gibonmatthias/Desktop/Capture d’écran 2021-08-06 à 22.48.33.png

I have seen in the common problem and solutions in the rules a problem similar to mine but can't download the file
btw I already reinstalled minecraft, i do not have any mod/ launcher/ ressource pack installed, i updated java and tried to turn off my fire wall

thanks for your help and sorry for the bad english

1) You an't give out links to files on your computer. Nobody can access them. You have to upload them to a website.

2) We need the installer log, which is in the same folder you downloaded the installer to.

3) We don't support old versions anymore. Use 1.15+

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

how do i run the installer from the command line?

You need to open a terminal window, and make sure you are in the same folder/directory as the installer. Then run

Quote

java -jar ./forge-1.17.1-37.0.27-installer.jar

yeah, i'm a bit stupid
somehow I came from the installer to the server, no idea why ...

where exactly is your installer (path)?
and from where do you run the command line (path)?

because the command line searches for the installer in the current folder and does not find any
java -jar ./forge-1.17.1-37.0.27-installer.jar

run the command again and replaces the '.' with the complete path, like:
C:/Programm/java/forge-1.17.1-37.0.27-installer.jar -> should look like that
