Posted August 22, 20223 yr I need a slowdown effect like Item::releaseUsing. I tried through @SubscribeEvent public static void modTick(TickEvent.PlayerTickEvent event){ event.player.setSpeed(0.1F); } But it doesn't seem to work
August 22, 20223 yr Use a AttributeModifier on Attributes#MOVEMENT_SPEED, you can add the AttributeModifier via AttributeInstance#addTransientModifier. The required AttributeInstance is accessible via Player#getAttribute with Attributes#MOVEMENT_SPEED.
August 22, 20223 yr If you look at Player.aiStep() you will see that the speed is reset to the MOVEMENT_SPEED attribute every tick. An example of modifying that attribute is LivingEntity.tryAddFrost() Boilerplate: If you don't post your logs/debug.log we can't help you. For curseforge you need to enable the forge debug.log in its minecraft settings. You should also post your crash report if you have one. If there is no error in the log file and you don't have a crash report then post the launcher_log.txt from the minecraft folder. Again for curseforge this will be in your curseforge/minecraft/Install Large files should be posted to a file sharing site like https://gist.github.com You should also read the support forum sticky post.
