WARDOGSK93 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 so Minecraft pre-1.8 has been released, i can only ask one question though how much longer untill Forge 1.8 is released ore Forge pre-1.8 Quote
Xcox123 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 Well guessing from previous releases, no freaking way a pre-release forge, and 1.8, due to the rendering/handling changes, will take AT LEAST 3 months estimate for 1.8 forge to be released Quote
FLUFFY2 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 The MCP team started the work to update their code once that is done Forge team starts to update. I would predict 2-2.5 mounth till a stable release! Quote
WARDOGSK93 Posted August 22, 2014 Author Posted August 22, 2014 thanks i just wanted to know how long it would be untill i need to update my mod Quote
Chibill Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Right now I am working on deobfuscating 1.8 starting at the first snapshot. Quote
LexManos Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I'm busy with con until the ~5th After that I am going to passout and recover from con. After that I will update MCP After that cpw and I will update FML After that I will update Forge. It'll get done, soon, but Part of them releasing it while i'm at con is a good thing, it lets them stabilize {if they are going to do a 1.8.1/2} while im at con and I can work on those. Expect a release sometime early-mid-september. Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
longlostbro Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 I'm assuming sometime mid november now? Quote
Eternaldoom Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 There are already 1.8 FML builds. Quote Check out my mod, Realms of Chaos, here. If I helped you, be sure to press the "Thank You" button!
longlostbro Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 There is nothing about it in the releases board. Quote
larsgerrits Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 That's because they're test versions. Here's the link: http://files.minecraftforge.net/fml//1.8 Quote Don't PM me with questions. larsgerrits Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 They are already working on building a stable FML version for MC 1.8, and then they start working on Forge, so that's gonna take a while. LexManos Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Fml for 1.8 had been out for a while, tell modders to start testing and gone reports. As for forge is in the works, rewriting all patch files by hand and a lot of the forge 8nternals. As well as dealing with cpw leaving and the potential .1 and .2 that is been waiting on mojang to drop (I've known is been pending for a while, but my forge work and work with other modders are filtering to mojang and they ate fixing the bugs we find) Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. NovaViper Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 I have a question about the FML 1.8 pre-release. Is the same as forge or is it two completely different things? If I use this pre-release will I have to completely switch over to FML and be able to switch back to forge? NovaViper Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Ok, thanks! Quote Main Developer and Owner of Zero Quest Visit the Wiki for more information If I helped anyone, please give me a applaud and a thank you!
Eractnod Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 With the FML 1.8 release, you can start to update your mod. I have been able to get mine updated except for armor and the dimension which require forge. This way you can be that much further along when forge is released. You can start to see all the changes that are required in block rendering. I am running a 1.8 world now with two of my mods in it now. Just rem'ed out the things that needed forge. Quote
Eternaldoom Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Me too. Everything except armor and a dimension. I needed ASM for a lot of things though (tileentity update packets, bow animations, and block particle textures for a render type of 2). Quote Check out my mod, Realms of Chaos, here.
