Basically I used similar code to the cactus however when my player comes into contact he takes no damage, I was wondering if someone could tell me why and help fix this

Block Class

package top.mod.block;

import net.minecraft.block.SoundType;

import net.minecraft.block.material.Material;

import net.minecraft.block.state.IBlockState;

import net.minecraft.entity.Entity;

import net.minecraft.util.DamageSource;

import net.minecraft.util.math.BlockPos;

import net.minecraft.world.World;

public class UraniumOre extends BlockBase {

public UraniumOre(Material mat) {

super(mat);

setHardness(8F);

setResistance(8F);

setHarvestLevel("pickaxe", 2);

this.setSoundType(SoundType.STONE);

}

  /**

    * Called When an Entity Collided with the Block

    */

    public void onEntityCollidedWithBlock(World worldIn, BlockPos pos, IBlockState state, Entity entityIn)

    {

        entityIn.attackEntityFrom(DamageSource.cactus, 1.0F);

    }

}

onEntityCollided is called when the Entity is inside the bounding box that is its hit box.

You did not copy the cactus class mind you. I'm not sure if this can be done with a normal sized block, because what happens if the collision goes into another block.

You need to make it's size slightly smaller than one block, but make the collision box bigger than the actual block itself. Look at BlockCactus it should have some AxisAlignedBB fields.

By "slightly smaller" we mean "by 0.001 is sufficient"

It will still look like a full block.

0.0625F isn't "infinitesimally."  It's 1/16th, or a whole pixel.

Also you meant "smaller"
