[1.11] Detecting TEs that are not horizontal / vertical from the orginal

Recommended Posts

Hello,

So I'm in need of detecting a te in a 3x3 area, however, the

EnumFacing.VALUES

, does the 6 faces, like expected. However, how would I be able to detected TEs that are diagonal from it, or just anywhere in a marked area?

I think you will need to switch over to using an int for loop ie

for (int x = -1; x < 1; x++) {
for (int y = -1; y < 1; y++) {
        for (int z = -1; z < 1; z++) {

        }
}
}

You use an Iterable in a for/foreach loop. It will loop through every

BlockPos

in the cuboid you specified.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

This

BlockPos.getAllInBox

method is confusing the hell out of me for some reason, I've tried using the pos, using a Iterable.. just keeps on giving me an error about Iterable, which I tried applying.

This should give you 3x3 area around pos.

Iterable<BlockPos> positions = BlockPos.getAllInBox(pos.down().north().east(), pos.up().south().west());

Or

getAllInBox(pos.add(-1,-1,-1), pos.add(1,1,1);

Thanks, however, I'm having an issue getting the positions and looking for a te at that position. So how would I access the positions?

Hm, running into an issue, this doesn't seem to detect the TEs at all:

  for(int i = 0; i < MAX_SEARCH_RANGE; i++) {
                BlockPos pos = this.getPos().offset(facing, i);
                Iterable<BlockPos> positions = BlockPos.getAllInBox(pos.add(-3,-3,-3), pos.add(3,3,3));
                    TileEntity te = worldObj.getTileEntity(positions.iterator().next());
                    if (te instanceof TileEntityManaCrystal) {
                        int manaToProduce = ((TileEntityManaCrystal) te).mana_produce;
                        this.storage.receiveManaInternal(manaToProduce * crystalsAround.size(), false, false);
                        if (!crystalsAround.contains(te)) {
                            crystalsAround.add(te);
                        }
                    }
                    if (i >= MAX_SEARCH_RANGE) {
                        return;
                    }
                }
                validateTE();
        }

Also, I shouldnt have the foreach loop for

EnumFacing facing : EnumFacing.values

, correct?

That entirely depends on what you're trying to do.

Right now you're searching a 7x7x7 cube centered on this block.  Facing values would search only the 6 directly adjacent blocks.
