I want my custom block to drop different drops when broken by an custom item.

Something like this:

i have something, that seems to work, but i'm stuck on this:

if (new ItemStack(this.harvesters.get().getHeldItemMainhand().getItem(), 1, 0) == new ItemStack(ModTools.iron_archeology_shovel, 1, 0))

 

It's allways false

 

Maybe it's because i'm initializing the archeology dirt before the archeology shovel, but i need it to be initialized before the archeology dirt, so is there a way to do it, or is the problem in something else?

.equals() won't work on ItemStacks either, by the way. You need to use ItemStack.areStacksEqual()

Or compare the item/metadata directly.

So, i did this:

}

And it seems to be working - i enchanted about 60 of them and no silk touch, but you can still apply silk touch on it using book and anvil :(

And i tested other enchantments and every one except efficiency works

Maybe it has something to do with this:

Efficiency

Increases mining speed. See Breaking Speed for details. One must use the proper tool for a block in order to receive the speed. Does not matter if you mine it with the incorrect tier. The speed increase applies to all blocks that when mined, will drop an item.

 

 

maybe it's because the blocks have harvest level set to "shovel" and this tool isnt technically a shovel

Ok, doesn't matter, it would be too fast with efficiency

the tool has base mining speed of 0.3 - that means 2.3 with efficiency I and 26.3 with efficiency V

 

thats too much, so i'll also disable efficiency.

i tried this just for testing:
