Posted April 19, 201312 yr I'm using the new Icon system, its really simple to get but I came across a problem during PostInit when it loads a block. It can't find the icon when its clearly there, and retruns a stupid warning: 2013-04-19 21:01:22 [WARNING] [Minecraft-Client] TextureManager.createTexture called for file mods/Steamcraft/textures/blocks/BlockTest.png, but that file does not exist. Ignoring. C:\Users\Admin\Desktop\steamcraft_src\jars\mods\Steamcraft\textures\blocks\BlockTest.png Clearly exists as I can enter it. ((I'm marking the place of the texture, not the texture itself.)) I'm using "Steamcraft:BlockTest" just a stock one, seems to be working fine for everyone. Am I placing the texture in the wrong place, or is something jammed with my code ? Thanks alot !

April 19, 201312 yr Put them in your jar, the 'mods' doesnt refer to the mods folder. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon

April 19, 201312 yr Author Mhm, so I got it all wrong. Why in the warning string it reffers to mods ? mods/Steamcraft/textures/blocks/BlockTest.png

April 19, 201312 yr Since the new individual texture thing, this is how textures are found. You'll see it load vanilla textures in a similar way if you read the output window. Rather than mods/textures/block, items etc. It would be something like /gui/chest.png and stuff.

April 19, 201312 yr Put them in your jar, the 'mods' doesnt refer to the mods folder. Wrong. So very very wrong. When you compile for release, your class files will end up inside /reobf/minecraft/YOUR_PACKAGE You'll create a zip file of YOUR_PACKAGE, then you'll want to add the /mods folder that has your textures in it (so your zip file will contain two things at the root: a folder named YOUR_PACKAGE and one named "mods"). Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

April 19, 201312 yr Author I asked something about the String. You go into a hole other way, regrading a question that I have understood before and I really didn't care and never asked. I asked why the STRING that returns the warning, regrads towards the mods folder. but I have already got it, and saw that it requires the folder mods, inside the jar. Put them in your jar, the 'mods' doesnt refer to the mods folder. Wrong. So very very wrong. LexManos wrong? I dobut that. I tried LexManos's answer, and its right. he ment in general it goes into a jar. I work without textures inside MCP, cause I dont have time to be dealing with them over there. I just fix them after an pre-release.

April 19, 201312 yr I'm not wrong. We are both correct. To clarify, your textures need to be ON THE CLASSPATH. Be it in eclipse itself as you described. Or picked up from a zip in the mods folder by fml. The root folder just needs to be on the classpath somewhere. The mods folder, and the root minecraft folder are not added to the classpath, hence why it cant be found where he put them. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon

April 19, 201312 yr I'm not wrong. Telling someone to perform a jar edit is still bad advice, even if your statement was technically correct. April 19, 201312 yr He's telling him to put it in HIS jar not the main minecraft jar Which is misleading, if not correctly read. Use the term "zip" so it's unambiguous.
