I heard I have to use preInit for everything now... :/

Is init broken? or was this intentional?

Thank you for your (lack of an) answer.

No, you do NOT need jar modding!

I really don't know :/ But what I DO know is that I have always used pre-init... Anyway.

I think its to do with the textures flunking out in 1.6.1. I also noticed that in 1.6.1 forge, no items get rendered in the players hand in third person view. But that's beside the point!

Sorry for not being that helpful... I didn't get anyone else's' problems, my textures worked fine!

I am Mew. The Legendary Psychic. I behave oddly and am always playing practical jokes.

I have also found that I really love making extremely long and extremely but sometimes not so descriptive variables. Sort of like what I just did there xD

Everything shouldn't be preInit.

cpw is still deciding when things should go.

You should be able to load all your stuff just fine i other events...

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

@Mew: I'm talking about item names and stuff...

EDIT:

@LexManos: I guess that also goes for you...

No, you do NOT need jar modding!

@Lex: I know that we are supposed to put stuff in the init, (I don't know why) but I have always had my stuff in the pre-init. I am really not sure why.

@SoniEX2: Sorry about that. I am not sure. You will have to read documentation and get input straight from the source, excuse the pun, LexManos

Its just that right now, texture registration and language registries will fail if it happens later than preInit.

Hence the question.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

Thank you for your (lack of an) answer.

It's not a stable recommended release yet, they are still working on stuff so things will still change :)

There's no answer as things aren't done yet, which ya knew when downloading the builds :)

and hence the answer:
