Forge does check version-named folders for mods, but you're running 1.12.2 with 1.12.2 mods in a folder called 1.12.

I already went through it with you but it still looks like you're using 9Minecraft for mods, judging from your filenames. I see another issue, but I'm going to wait until you've shown proof of using the correct sources for mods before I tell you. (This may seem like a dick move but if I have to be a dick for you to learn safe modding practices then so be it).

9Minecraft is a scam site. Delete all files you got from there, then take a look at the StopModReposts project, install their browser extension, and run an antivirus scan. Edit: I already went through that with you, can you give me a screenshot of your mods folder including the path bar?

I try to stick with the latest version. Your CPU appears to be a bit old but it should still be able to run modded I think, how long have you let it sit before killing it?

Ah, thank you. I don't think I did things manually back then.

My worry about the 1.7.10 file is that its icon is one I don't recognize and it doesn't look like a Forge installer.
