perigrine3 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) I'm not really sure what I'm doing here, so here's my code: private static final VoxelShape INSIDE = makeCuboidShape(2.0D, 2.0D, 0.0D, 12.0D, 14.0D, 14.0D); protected static final VoxelShape SHAPE = VoxelShapes.combineAndSimplify(VoxelShapes.fullCube(), VoxelShapes.or(makeCuboidShape(0.0D, 2.0D, 0.0D, 2.0D, 14.0D, 16.0D), makeCuboidShape(14.0D, 2.0D, 0.0D, 2.0D, 14.0D, 16.0D), makeCuboidShape(2.0D, 2.0D, 14.0D, 12.0D, 14.0D, 2.0D), makeCuboidShape(0.0D, 0.0D, 0.0D, 16.0D, 2.0D, 16.0D), INSIDE), IBooleanFunction.ONLY_FIRST); @Override public VoxelShape getShape(BlockState state, IBlockReader worldIn, BlockPos pos, ISelectionContext context) { return SHAPE; } For some reason, the block is acting like a whole block. lupicus Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 Your shape is strange, but the top is solid, so you need to open it and make it a little wider so you can fit into. Make the 4th and 5th parameters for INSIDE 14.0D (make wider) and 16.0D (make hole in top). It still is a strange shape. Quote
perigrine3 Posted July 16, 2021 Author Posted July 16, 2021 I see. Big brain activated. what can i put in place of "fullCube"? Quote
perigrine3 Posted July 16, 2021 Author Posted July 16, 2021 Also, it's just the bottom part of a two-block unit. I'm attempting to recreate the 1.12.2 Cyberware mod for 1.16.5. Quote
Draco18s Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 You probably don't need the fullCube and the simplify. You could use VoxelShapes.EMPTY (or however it's named) or you could just do: protected static final VoxelShape SHAPE = VoxelShapes.or( makeCuboidShape(0.0D, 2.0D, 0.0D, 2.0D, 14.0D, 16.0D), makeCuboidShape(14.0D, 2.0D, 0.0D, 2.0D, 14.0D, 16.0D), makeCuboidShape(2.0D, 2.0D, 14.0D, 12.0D, 14.0D, 2.0D), makeCuboidShape(0.0D, 0.0D, 0.0D, 16.0D, 2.0D, 16.0D), INSIDE), IBooleanFunction.ONLY_FIRST); Quote Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. lupicus Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 That is not going to be good for the bottom block (still pretty much a solid cube). The simple way to get that is: private static final VoxelShape INSIDE = makeCuboidShape(2.0D, 2.0D, 0.0D, 14.0D, 16.0D, 14.0D); protected static final VoxelShape SHAPE = VoxelShapes.combineAndSimplify( VoxelShapes.fullCube(), INSIDE, IBooleanFunction.ONLY_FIRST); Quote

The simple way to get that is: Expand if you want to generate the VoxelShape for a model, you can use the Blockbench with the plugin "Mod Utils". Quote
