That log message doesn't match someone trying to use Twitch's launcher, if you had issues with the installer try reporting them instead of your attempts to use Twitch's broken crap

Forge's installer is designed with the Native launcher in mind, the jar launcher hasn't been updated or supported in ages.

If you use capabilities correctly Forge should handle that for you

They are the only versions we provide support for, other versions should still work but we won't provide assistance if they break

Yes, just properly register the statistic and vanilla will track it for you
