It's some programming jargon, basically an error occurred in an area that's supposed to fix errors or otherwise log them before shutdown

What do you mean lts? If you mean latest, no you're not and the latest version's changelog specifically says it fixes a startup crash, and that's not typically what LTS means.

You will need to install Forge on your client if you intend to play with mods, however it is not a necessary component of the server. I was asking if you had used the installer or assembled the files yourself, which is not recommended. Are you sure the installation process was completed before you attempted to start the server?
