  1. the mossy stone recipe is a really good idea.
  2. - Added 2 new Mods: Better Equipment && Better Patched Leather
  3. Yeah would be cool if there would be a changelog or something like that for forge...
  4. Hello again, i searched now for a while, to find a solution to my problem. How can i reduce the armor displayed at the gui? i rebalanced the armors and want to display the new armor cap. Couldnt find anything in the source code.. Would be cool if someone could help me with that(Which class do i need to overwrite?).
  5. Well... its pretty hard to find improvements without changing too much. I liked MC much more when resources like coal/iron were rare. Ofc you can overhaul the ore generation but, if someone else like that idea and has an existing world, it was the best idea to make the furnace consume more. But atm, i have no idea, what i can "improve". Maybe i should release the furnace without increased consumption and time changes? Don't know
  6. Welcome to Project Better Minecraft, this is my series to improve the vanilla gameplay and also make it a bit more challenging. Let's get started with the mods: Better Furnace Enhanced IMPORTANT *Overrides the old furnace Recipe(all vanilla furnaces will stay the same. So you have to craft the new one! Just craft a furnace like u always did.)* Better Furnace Enhanced (BFE) improves the vanilla furnace in many ways and adds a bit more realism. This mod can will increase smelting/cooking times and these times also differ from each other! Higher smelting/cooking times also mean, that fuels will be more valuable than before, because you will need more fuels than before adds more challenge with it to harvest new fuels. (Everything is hardcoded, so you cant the cooking/smelting times. Futureplan is to add a gui to adjust everything.) Features of this mod: * When the furnace runs out of fuel, the progress is not lost! Just throw in a new fuel and the progress will continue. * This furnace now recognizes, recipes which consume more items while smelting. (This is used by my second mod and could be interesting for other modders, too) * Do you have a recipe which uses a water bucket? A empty bucket is returned after smelting! * Smelting times now differ and add a bit more "realism": * Fuels are tweaked to fit better the new cooking times: Download Better Furnace Enhanced via MediaFire How to Install & Uninstall Install: Drop the downloaded .jar into your mods folder! You need to craft a new furnace and replace the old one! (Same recipe) Done! Uninstall: Remove all none vanilla items added by this mod ingame! After that, you are free to delete this mod. Better Recipes *Note this mod requires BFE* The goal with Better Recipes (BR) is to make iron and gold more valuable. This mod also adds fried eggs! Yay! With this mod installed you need at least 3 iron blocks to smelt 1 iron ingot. Changed recipes: Iron Ingot 1x = Iron Ore x3 Gold Ingot 1x = Gold Ore x4 New recipe: Fried Egg 1x = Egg x1 || Restores 4 hunger points(2 full hunger points) Download Download via MediaFire How to Install & Uninstall Install: Drop the downloaded .jar into your mods folder! Done! Uninstall: Remove all none vanilla items added by this mod ingame! After that, you are free to delete this mod. *Note as always, mods which add items, "can" corrupt a save game, so be careful while uninstalling!* Better Equipment I was getting bored, wandering around with a diamond armor and i was nearly invulnerable. And every equipment related to gold is useless. I made it similiar to diamond but it has less durability than a iron armor, so it breaks faster! It will give you a good protection for a some time! (more details below) This is my try to overhaul some equipment pieces, to make the game still challenging, this includes: *Iron Armor, *Gold Armor, *Diamond Armor, *Gold Weapons&Tools (excluding hoe) What changed: Download Download via MediaFire How to Install & Uninstall Install: Drop the downloaded .jar into your mods folder! You have to craft the new armors like the old ones! (THIS MOD DOES NOT AFFECT THE OLD ARMORS!) Done! Uninstall: It's not recommed to delete this mod, all new items are also replaced with the one you can find in chests! But if you really want to: Remove all none vanilla items added by this mod ingame! After that, you are free to delete this mod. If you find a chest that was generated with this mod and it contains a modded item, it will crash your game! *Note as always, mods which add items, "can" corrupt a save game, so be careful while uninstalling!* Better Patched Leather *Note this mod will not return a bucket if you use the vanilla furnace!* Better Patched Leather is a mod, which allows you to get salt! FASCINATING! Well.... not quite... but now you can turn rotten flesh into leather!! So if you like cows and hate zombies, there you go. "Long live the mighty cow king!" Download Download via MediaFire How to Install & Uninstall Install: Drop the downloaded .jar into your mods folder! Done! Uninstall: Remove all none vanilla items added by this mod ingame! After that, you are free to delete this mod. *Note as always, mods which add items, "can" corrupt a save game, so be careful while uninstalling!* Got any suggestion or problems? Down below | v

  9. Hello again, i recognized a strange problem, which is present in every mod i created! (i'm using Forge 10.12.0.1046) So what happens: If i create a very simple mod, like 1 item without textures and stuff. One simple useless item. (Adding the item is done, in preinit.) Now i start minecraft. I create a new world. The item present! *cheer* BUT! I don't like the world, so im going to create a new one! So i create a new world again! What happens now? Yes, the item is gone! Now i thought -- its gone from creative tab, lets do a crafting recipe!! The Recipe is working! The item is shown at the slot, but if i take the item: ---- Minecraft Crash Report ---- // Ooh. Shiny. minecraft and start it again. -> enter the world where the mod has not loaded -> still not loading (corrupted i guess) When i now shutdown minecraft and start it again. -> Create new world -> mod works again! Can please someone try that out. Would be good to know, if its only me.
  10. public void removeRecipe() { Iterator iterator = FurnaceRecipes.smelting().getSmeltingList().entrySet().iterator(); Entry entry; do { entry = (Entry)iterator.next(); if(((ItemStack)entry.getKey()).getUnlocalizedName().equalsIgnoreCase("tile.oreIron")||((ItemStack)entry.getKey()).getUnlocalizedName().equalsIgnoreCase("tile.oreGold")) { iterator.remove(); System.out.println(((ItemStack)entry.getKey()).getUnlocalizedName()+ " Removed!"); } } ^ look at this, took it out from my mod. i use it to remove recipes.
  11. Would be cool, if u post what you exactly fixed, maybe there are people who have the same problem. so this could be a bit helpful after all.
  12. afaik setHarvestLevel: when u get a item from the block != if its possible to mine with tool xy
  13. You need to @Override the oldpickup @Buttons and the buttons are only decoration blocks [.code][./code] for cookies without the . *i hope u get it*
  14. i think he quitted. hopefully
  15. i got mine! and i must say.... use the force luke! *Force* <insert cool sound effect from star wars> if (event.getSide() == Side.CLIENT) Minecraft.getMinecraft().refreshResources(); put that at the end of your preinit and then say loud and clearly! Wingardium Leviosa
  16. When i used Timer, i had the problem that u can only run the task once. u have to create a new one. so that was a problem for me, that why i used ScheduledThreadPoolExecutor Its long ago.. maybe i did something wrong in the past... but just wanted to mention it. (A Staff that calls a meteor, that explodes like a creeper, which can be only used once every 1 minute. Challenge accepted!)
  17. There is a reference, called arrow. look how it has been made, copy it, edit it. done. I think no one on this forum will write the code for you, thats your job. And if u want help with your code THEN YOU HAVE TO SHOW IT. srsly is that so hard to understand??
  18. Look at the bold. <init> is the constructor. Please go back to learning Java and stop "copy & paste modding." YOU CANNOT DO SHIT IN THE CONSTRUCTOR OF YOUR MAIN MOD FILE. Oh, and Pahimar is definitely not doing all this in the constructor, you are just blind. Have a read: http://www.homeandlearn.co.uk/java/write_your_own_java_classes.html ^ This. Get a basic knowledge of java. You can't mod without knowing anything... when there is such an easy error and u only say but he did it like this. then u dont know how to code and this guy neither. use the link above(quote) to get started. also maybe get: http://www.amazon.de/Head-First-Java-Mike-Loukides/dp/0596009208
  19. u need to say this, because u r giving an instance of its own class NetworkRegistry.instance().registerGuiHandler(this, new GuiHandler());
  20. here is a pretty good tutorial for a custom furnace: he explains everything. follow this tutorial and everything will be fine. only one thing is not up to date, and that is: public boolean onBlockActivated(World p_149727_1_, int p_149727_2_, int p_149727_3_, int p_149727_4_, EntityPlayer p_149727_5_, int p_149727_6_, float p_149727_7_, float p_149727_8_, float p_149727_9_) i copied it from the BlockFurnace.class, then it worked.
  21. it works! thank you very much for this hint. The question is still, is this a forge bug?
  22. the last time i downloaded forge, i catched a cold. i dont know if that was accidental. but that can happen... last time i downloaded minecraft i got diarrhea... viruses everywhere...
  23. FriedEgg.class package com.example.friedegg; import net.minecraft.creativetab.CreativeTabs; import net.minecraft.item.ItemFood; public class FriedEgg extends ItemFood { public FriedEgg(int p_i45339_1_, float p_i45339_2_, boolean p_i45339_3_) { super(p_i45339_1_, p_i45339_2_, p_i45339_3_); this.setUnlocalizedName("friedEgg"); this.setCreativeTab(CreativeTabs.tabFood); this.setTextureName(ExampleMod.MODID + ":" + "friedEgg"); } }
  24. Ehh, no difference? Well, the question is, what do you want to accomplish? you can say new ItemStack(Item.getItemfromBlock(Blocks.iron_ore)), x) then u have an ironblock with stacksize
