You are getting this:

java.lang.RuntimeException: One of more entry values did not copy to the correct id. Check log for details!

In the github issue, moosegold mentions this error:

Quote

Just tried with two items on my resource domain. It gave the error 'One of more entry values did not copy to the correct id. Check log for details!'
There was also this message:
Registered override did not have an associated owner object. Name: petarmormod:testing Type: net.minecraft.item.Item Value: com.moosegold.petarmormod.Item.Test2@14eaec27
I don't see anything in the log, but here it is...

First off, Code Style Issue number 1

And all objects that have a RegistryEvent need to be initialized in the registry event as it is called prior to preInit.

Model binding also has an event ModelRegistryEvent.

And all objects that have a RegistryEvent need to be initialized in the registry event as it is called prior to preInit.

Model binding also has an event ModelRegistryEvent.

Actually, all registry events are fired just after preInit (by preInit, I assume we're talking about mods' FMLPreInitializationEvent handlers being called).  So preInit handlers cannot assume that anything (blocks, items, sounds, models...) will be registered.  Any mod code that deals with anything in the registry should be done in init (FMLInitializationEvent) or later.

Another question.

whats the replacement for  IExtendedEntityProperties

Capabilities.  See https://mcforge.readthedocs.io/en/latest/datastorage/capabilities/, in particular https://mcforge.readthedocs.io/en/latest/datastorage/capabilities/#migrating-from-iextendedentityproperties

My bad, it was like that in 1.10, so I had assumed it carried over.?

can not for the life of me get the in game textures to render, and moving this to pre init makes the model loaders load 1 every second on start up

[00:02:40] [main/WARN] [FML]: Potentially Dangerous alternative prefix `minecraft` for name `summoning table`, expected `essence`. This could be a intended override, but in most cases indicates a broken mod.

has this got anything to do with it?

Do these have your modid and then a colon at the start of them?

JourneyItems.itemNames
JourneyBlocks.blockName

setRegistryName(SlayerAPI.MOD_ID, name);

The answer is no, because you add them with this

JourneyItems.itemNames.add(name);

And then you call

setRegistryName(SlayerAPI.MOD_ID, name);

So "name" doesn't have your modid.

By the way, if your slayer.api package is meant to ship separately so that other mod authors can write plugin mods, your API will crash:
https://github.com/TheSlayerMC/Journey-1.12/blob/master/main/java/net/slayer/api/item/ItemMod.java#L36

It has a hard reference to your journey package.

What is this even used for?

https://github.com/TheSlayerMC/Journey-1.12/blob/master/main/java/net/journey/JourneyItems.java#L153

You should setup and use a gitignore file, these files:

https://github.com/TheSlayerMC/Journey-1.12/blob/master/main/java/net/journey/._JITL.java

are useless and not necessary to include in your repo.

So wait, you made a change, it "didn't work" so you undid that change?

Also, why are you setting your item's registry name prefix for the Journey mod's items to the API mod's modid?

the api isnt a actual api, ive just used it for years now and named it that, its more of a file that has a bunch of usefull methods

and i just made a change then and only some items are starting to show textures,

https://github.com/TheSlayerMC/Journey-1.12/commit/7f1d2f198ce33698487643cda0cf285562c5efff

but on that note, no blocks are showing up in game at all, theyre getting called in the log as registering but nothing in game, registered the same as the items and they work

Do the assets have the registry name as their file names?

Try this in your class:

@Override
    public String getArmorTexture(ItemStack stack, Entity entity, EntityEquipmentSlot slot, String type) {
        if (slot != EntityEquipmentSlot.LEGS) {
            return modid+":textures/models/armor/"+ArmorName+"_layer_1.png";
        }else {
            return modid+":textures/models/armor/"+ArmorName+"_layer_2.png";
        }
    }

In layer_1.png there are the legs and in layer_2.png everything else of the nomal Minecraft armor.

do the .png files have to be all lower case now?

Yes. All assets need to be lowercase, except for the special scenario with the lang file.

Alright, so why wouldnt the blocks show up if they're getting registered the same as the items? theyre set to creative tabs but they have nothing in them but doesnt crash which makes me think its only something minor causing it

What is happening exactly? Are the blocks not being textured, is it only in the world or is it happening in the inventory as well? Are their models loading? Are they in the game can you /give them to yourself?

    • When I first heard about Bitcoin back in 2018, I was skeptical. The idea of a decentralized, digital currency seemed too good to be true. But I was intrigued as I learned more about the technology behind it and its potential. I started small, investing just a few hundred dollars, dipping my toes into the cryptocurrency waters. At first, it was exhilarating to watch the value of my investment grow exponentially. I felt like I was part of the future, an early adopter of this revolutionary new asset. But that euphoria was short-lived. One day, I logged into my digital wallet only to find it empty - my Bitcoin had vanished without a trace. It turned out that the online exchange I had trusted had been hacked, and my funds were stolen. I was devastated, both financially and emotionally. All the potential I had seen in Bitcoin was tainted by the harsh reality that with decentralization came a lack of regulation and oversight. My hard-earned money was gone, lost to the ether of the digital world. This experience taught me a painful lesson about the price of trust in the uncharted territory of cryptocurrency. While the technology holds incredible promise, the risks can be catastrophic if you don't approach it with extreme caution. My Bitcoin investment gamble had failed, and I was left to pick up the pieces, wiser but poorer for having placed my faith in the wrong hands. My sincere appreciation goes to MUYERN TRUST HACKER. • You could try posting a log (if there is no log at all, it may be the launcher you are using, the FAQ may have info on how to enable the log) as described in the FAQ, however this will probably need to be reported to/remedied by the mod author.
    • So me and a couple of friends are playing with a shitpost mod pack and one of the mods in the pack is corail tombstone and for some reason there is a problem with it, where on death to fire the player will get kicked out of the server and the tombstone will not spawn basically deleting an entire inventory, it doesn't matter what type of fire it is, whether it's from vanilla fire/lava, or from modded fire like ice&fire/lycanites and it's common enough to where everyone on the server has experienced at least once or twice and it doesn't give any crash log. a solution to this would be much appreciated thank you!
    • It is 1.12.2 - I have no idea if there is a 1.12 pack
