Where are you getting your mods?

Can you provide the installer log from your server installation?

What error are you seeing from Gradle?

and did you select client or server installation.

Did you run the installer or did you just grab the universal and assume it would work?

Second time I've seen someone following this video and it saddens me. Installing Forge and mods is not hard, you should not need to follow a tutorial by someone who routes traffic from their videos through their own website that has ads and pop-ups before actually sending them on to Forge.

Those are not logs and 1.8.9 is no longer supported due to its age. If you wish to receive further support please update to a modern version and provide logs (more info in my forum signature).

You should not have to delete any version to install more. Can you provide logs for the versions that crash, and please verify that the crashing versions are versions you have not removed the files for.

You are launching a vanilla server, not a Forge server. To launch a Forge server you need to launch the Forge jar.

What launcher are you using? Please provide a screenshot.

That's... not even the right website. Only download Forge from https://files.minecraftforge.net

WorldEdit is not made by the Forge team, I'm not sure what you are expecting here.

Judging from the package name they may be the author. If this is the case please provide your code as a GitHub Repo. I can also already see you've been following a bad tutorial from the fact the error is coming out of a BlockBase class.

As far as I know at this point, Optifine is not Forge-Compatible, so the Forge Forum might be the wrong place to be asking about this.

Can you provide a link to your repo?

Firefox and a 0 kB Forge installer, Firefox blocked the download. Go to Firefox’s download manager to recover the file and try again.

All config files should be in the config directory and all logs should be in the log directory, both of these directories can be found in your .minecraft directory.

You need to use Java 8, no more no less.
