1. Yeah. That's just my SMP one... Most of the mods are what you'd expect in tekkit, but a few additions as well as a few subtractions. For instance, where EE used to be, I put in Greg's Prospecting, and Treecapitator, which are mods I won't use along side EE. And a few other things I think. I went and grabbed them all manually. I have like 61 mods on my SSP setup. >.>
2. Thanks, it was advanced machines and i've fixed it now by loading an older version An older version? Advanced Machines seems to being kept up to date with newer Forge builds and is using FML instead of MLMP. They're being kept up to date by AtomicStryker here. The current version I'm running is 4.1, and works fine with just Forge. (alongside 40 other Multiplayer mods)
3. Major: Some of the items don't exist in the server though they exist in the client. They can't be created or spawned on server. "No such item exists" error. Applies to the following; [*]parabolicMicrophone [*]piezoTransducer [*]quartzWafer [*]triode [*]ledBarGraph Mainly applies to items needed for slimophone. Mining radar item and recipes seem to work fine, as well as the radar itself... Less Major: There seems to be a bug when typing names for Singleplayer worlds. Pressing any of the letters for the radar controls, or brackets into singleplayer world names causes the game to blackscreen. The only work around is to type the name of the world you want and paste it in. The only other time this happens is for non-OPs in the server. They can't press any of the HotKeys without getting an error and kicked from the server. Not much a problem for me being that I only play with friends, and have no qualms about turning everyone into an OP and back up the server before inviting anyone else on. I've tested all the hotkeys once in-game and under many different circumstances, both SSP and SMP, and beyond actually typing them within the main login menus, pressing those keys doesn't hurt anything. Just letting you know. Those seem to be the biggest bugs. I'll report any more I may find.
4. While it does indeed support it, to get full functionality as well as better performance (normally), try installing Optifine.

FAQ

The main issue with this is that there's already an FAQ for the most part. It's on the Wiki. Click here to go to it. The next big issue with this is the laziness of a lot of the people coming to ask questions. They don't bother to search for the answers at all, even though the answers are right in front of their faces. It's a contradictory laziness, yes, but they can't know that until they're pointed into the right direction. I fear that even if the F.A.Q. were posted here on the forums, it'd get ignored as easily as the "Read this or you may get banned." sticky. The number of people who ignore that post altogether completely boggles my mind. lol
6. My intention here isn't to be rude, but the guys over at Technic have their own forums for support. Please, for future reference, ask them for Technic support, as they're in charge of the problems Technic users have. Click here to go to the Technic Forums. As much as you should download it and install it yourself, Tekkit does it for you. You need to make sure that your Tekkit, once selected, is set to the corresponding version of the server you're trying to launch. For instance, if you're trying to run the current version of Tekkit (3.1.2), then you'll need to set your launcher to run that same version. Open your TechnicLauncher and go to "Options". Once in there, choose your build manually (the third bubble option, I think) and then choose the correct version from the drop-down in the top-right of the options menu. The version you choose, again, needs to match the version of the server you're wanting to run. From there, you press the "OK" button and Login. Assuming you extracted the Tekkit server files to a folder already, run the "launch.bat" from said folder, and the server should be up and running for you to join. That's all that can really be said. You'll need to get further detail from the people at Technic. Sorry if I couldn't be of any more help.
7. Here you go. The link is straight from the official Minecraft.net website, so it's all good. 1.2.5 minecraft.jar download ( If you'd feel safer seeing the link written out, here; http://assets.minecraft.net/1_2_5/minecraft.jar ) It's a fresh .jar, so it won't have anything installed to it. lol P.S. - Are you from the future?
8. Did you not bother to follow the stickied thread? The one titled "Minecraft 1.3.1?" It's stickied for a reason. Anyways, [*]Forge isn't released for 1.3.1 yet. [*]ModLoader Functionality is currently built into Forge. (still not 1.3.1 yet though) [*]Lastly, don't use ModLoaderMp. ForgeModLoader does it better, I hear. Either way, everything you need is pretty much built in already unless Mod Authors haven't ported to the most recent Forge releases. In which case, you should ask them to.
9. You'll still only need Forge. Risugami's ModLoader doesn't get along with Forge, as Forge has built in functionality for it. (for now)
10. Say too everyone noob ? i didnt know ok ? -.- You'd generally get nicer responses had you spent a moment longer than it takes to sign up to the site to find an answer. I mean, there's a stickied thread at the top of this board labeled "Minecraft 1.3.1?" with pretty much any answers you could hope for regarding your question. Also, I'm not meaning to offend, if it seems like it. You'll have to downgrade to 1.2.5 for the moment if it can't wait. I'd suggest MCNostalgia or a similar downgrader for that.
11. The cobblestone one is fine as it is, thanks for that. I think I'll stick with the one I'm currently using for the IC2 version, as it fits the clean, simple graphic style of that mod. BTW, you've reminded me that I forgot to credit you in readme, sorry -- corrected now. It's fine. If I want different textures, I'll just put it in a texture pack. And thanks for the credit! I really didn't notice until you said something about it.
12. It makes me really happy to see that my textures were use for something. What do you think of them? Should I recolor them or perhaps create different ones, you of course have the privilege to create derivatives yourself if you'd like.

Learning Java

I'm definitely gonna give that a shot! Thank you much.
14. If this is the case If this is the case, you could make it store in the mods folder, again within its own folder. Like... /Example Server Folder/mods/SimpleServerData. I know that doesn't help much in terms of what you're expecting, so I'll shush.

Learning Java

Well, I'm sure it won't be received too unwell. Unlike some, you're not asking others to hold your hand through the modding process. You're just asking if people can point you in the right direction to begin. This is actually something I'm interested in also. If I can self-teach, it'd be great. I'm really anxious to get into modding myself. I can only do the most basic of ModLoader things with very limited understanding. Copy-paste modding as people put it. Which is why I haven't bothered to make a thread here. I don't want my hand being held, nor do I expect anyone to. I want to learn. Even if the only way is the ways I find most difficult. Either way, I plan on taking some java classes at my college if possible. I've always wanted to program, and Minecraft, its modding community, and Forge itself have all inspired me to take up java for modding in my free time. Anyways, a few tips I can give are to try some simple study habits, such as taking notes that easily jog your memory, being concise where you deem necessary, and detailed at others. You'd also be surprised how well Flash cards work for terminology. Or you could try printing documentation and highlighting bits you feel most important. All of it's important of course, but you won't need to get into the heavy details of things every time. This helped me get by in my Visual Basic class. As for Java, I'm learning some of the basics from this place, and reading up on it in more detail here at the moment. If anyone else has any other suggestions as to where one can learn, I'm also quite interested to hear them.
16. Well, for certain types of questions asked, I think it'd be reasonable to. For this one in particular though, I think it reasonable that they assumed they still needed ModLoader. Annoyingly, most mods requiring forge out there haven't bothered to update their installation instructions to reflect that installing ModLoader is no longer necessary. I've added a note to the Wiki's Client Installation Instructions saying that ModLoader is no longer necessary. Hopefully it'll at least help a few people.
17. Run Minecraft with this batch file and paste the results here in a spoiler. To copy what's on the black screen, right-click it, and choose "select all", the hold your control key and press the letter C. That'll copy it to your clipboard for pasting elsewhere.
And this is how you use spoilers.
Not sure if just joking or serious. He can do that. Quite easily.
18. Yeah, I had this problem with a friend's ancient laptop once. It was surprisingly easy to fix by going to the manufacturers website and updating from there. It's been about 2 years since then though.
19. Ohh, goodness. Have you tried right-clicking the command prompt, choosing select all and using your standard keyboard shortcut for copying? (ctrl+c)
20. Are you using the default directory for minecraft or a different one? (Such as Technic) Because if you're using the default one, then you can use this batch file to run Minecraft and see what the command prompt says about it; Batch File Download (this is the same link as provided on the wiki here)
21. Or add Optifine to the mix for full Texture support.
22. Yeah, as Lex said. It'd be best if you just used Forge to develop your mod overall as it'd be compatible with all the other mods out there that require Forge or ModLoader. (Since forge is backwards compatible with it) Which is the whole point of Forge.
23. Ohh, I see. I was going by the "Your Site Here: 10,000 visitors / $5.00". Thanks for linking me to the rates page. I'd have always thought it was that if you didn't show me. Okay, I didn't know the rates were so close. My bad. Oh, I forgot to leave a message because It was my first time using the system, but I donated some to your ChipIn thingy on about the 10th of July. Which I hope more people will. I'd like to see some streaming.
